The DS 402 Positioning drive profile is a specification produced by the CANopen community describing the behaviour and feature set of a positioning drive when operating on CANopen. This allows multiple vendors of drive technology to provide compatible technology, offering a choice of suppliers to users. This same behaviour and feature set has been adopted by the Powerlink community, providing a well defined and proven positioning drive technology but leveraging the bandwidth and power of Powerlink.
DS402 includes features such as Profiled Position moves, Profiled Velocity control, Profiled Torque mode, Homing features, state machine control, error handling mechanisms, and object dictionary definition.
