What is the relationship between CANopen and Powerlink?
The Powerlink group decided to adopt certain features of CANopen and Device profiles and work closely with the CAN in Automation (CiA) group to do this. The CAN DS301 and CAN DS402 are of particular relevance.
DS301 describes the mechanisms for PDO and SDO access to object dictionary entries of a device. DS402 describes a profile for a positioning drive. Baldor MicroFlex e100 drives support this profile.
