Powerlink currently operates on 100Mbit. Because it can be implemented with standard Ethernet hardware it will be able to take advantage of emerging Ethernet standards of 1Gbit and beyond as Ethernet technology progresses.
This can provide sufficient bandwidth to provide cycle times down to 200µS.
