Can I control I/O over ETHERNET Powerlink?

Yes. Distributed I/O devices are available for use on Powerlink, as well as other sensors and actuators. In additional Baldor Powerlink products have on board I/O which can be mapped as PDO data on Powerlink and used locally by the manager node. Integrated CANopen DS401 management function in Baldor drives allows the use of low cost CANopen I/O devices anywhere in the system. The drives then act as the Network manager for the CAN devices and report the I/O status (process data) back to the Powerlink manager to be controlled by the main application program.
