Printing applications, as well as many packaging applications use a principle referred to as ‘electronic line shaft’ replacing traditional mechanical linkages with software to emulate gearbox ratios, CAM motion, clutch engage simulation and trim or corrective motion to compensate for registration errors. Mint provides all of this in simple keyword form such as FOLLOW (gearing functions), user defined CAM profiles, clutched motion using FLY, and EVENT based position latching to provide real-time response to process requirements such as print registration.
