Baldor’s Digital Soft-Start control combines the simplicity of a 6 SCR three phase voltage regulator with the most adaptable soft starting techniques available. Soft Starting reduces the wear on mechanical gears, chains, sprockets, belts and gearboxes. It also reduces water hammer in pumping applications. The reduced inrush current can prevent peak overload of the overall plant, thus preventing peak demand penalties charged by the local utility company.
Application software senses changing load conditions and adapts to increase performance. Power factor optimization eliminates motor over-fluxing and allows under-loaded or over-sized motors to operate more efficiently.
The Digital Soft-Start control features include microprocessor logic, NEMA 1 Type enclosure, and 2 x 16 alphanumeric English language keypad.
